Weekly Wishes: Still Battling Snooze

Weekly Wishes: Still Battling Snoozefeatured

I’m linking up with Melyssa at The Nectar Collective today to share my wishes/goals for week.

Last Week’s Wishes

01 | stop hitting snooze

hahahaha. yeah. I did okay on this for, like, 2 days. And then it all went to hell. To be fair, we picked my mom up in Orange on Wednesday night and my dad got here Thursday night, so from Thursday morning on I was basically in vacation (staycation?) mode. And, now that I think about it, when I did have to get up at a reasonable hour (on Friday, of all things), I managed that. But the battle continues. If I started tweeting my hoped-for and actual wake-up times for “support” and “accountability,” like people who are training for a 5K or writing a novel tweet their workouts or daily word count, would that be super annoying?

02| am workouts

Yes! I didn’t exactly *do* as much working out as I’d planned to, but when I did get sweaty, it was all well before lunchtime.

03 | organize my desk

Again, hahahaha. I blame the fact that I only had a 3-day week. And laziness.

04 | enjoy the hell out of time with my parents

Done and done:

San Francisco Giants at Petco Park

Giants game 2 of 2. They somehow managed to win this one in extra innings. And it was awesome.

This Week’s Wishes

01 | tackle my “be a grown-up” to-do list

This is an embarassingly long lists of calls and appointments to make and “grown-up” things to take care of. Like finding a mechanic who will replace my truck’s water pump without charging me a small fortune. Finally updating my Southwest Rapid Rewards account with my married name (I got married in September, finally got around to changing my name in December, and still have some loose ends with my old name floating around. What?). Renewing my passport. Stuff like that.

02 | set up social media accounts for the blog

Instagram and Pinterest, I’m looking at you. (Confession: I’ve been using Instagram for years, but keep my account private because a) I’m not dumb enough to think that people will want to see 12 pictures of Onyx all at once and b) I just want to cool filters on my photos without the whole “social” bit to deal with. So I’ve been trying to decide if I get over it and open up that account — and pay more attention to what I share — or start a separate account for the blog. OH THE DIFFICULT DECISIONS I MUST MAKE.)

03 | beautify the patio

Now that the World Cup’s winding down, I intend to move my “office” outside for at least part of the day (early morning and midafternoon when it’s not in full sun), so I want to clean my little patio table and get rid of the cobwebs and clear out the dead leaves and stuff.

04 | organize my desk

It just needs to happen.

What are your goals this week?

  • the snooze…. good luck with that one :/ i used to use the super loud alarm one, but i just got USED TO IT, how terrible is that!!?? start by organizing the desk. that’s my thought. american girl said that you should always make your bed first when you clean your room because it makes it seem cleaner. haha. that’s what i’m basing that on 🙂

    • I try the “put your alarm across the room so you’ll have to get out of bed to turn it off” thing and it doesn’t work at all. I get up, hit snooze, and stumble back to bed. Drives my husband crazy, but he usually gets up before me.
