I can’t tell you how wonderful it felt to wake up on Sunday and not be facing a double-digit training run. I only went out on three super easy, relaxed runs last week and took the weekend off entirely. The best part is now I’m totally ready to ease back into regular running and eventually some tough speed training.
Also last weekend, Husband and I took advantage of a new Sprint “deal” and got us a pair of iPhone 6s. They’re pretty sweet. There’s so much junk on my old phone I opted not to automatically transfer everything to the new one and instead I’m taking my time adding apps and contacts and stuff. I was having serious storage problems with my old phone (partly because it was a 4S and I stupidly updated iOS 8), so I’m trying to be a little more intentional and only adding apps and stuff I actually “need” and use.

01 | switch to self-hosting
Done. Yee Gods, I spent way too much time on Sunday pulling my hair out over that. Hopefully if you were following in Feedly, Bloglovin’, or some other reader you’ve found your way here and updated your bookmarks and stuff (and thank you!!! if you have). I tried two different plugins to redirect theponytaildiaries.wordpress.com here and to update all my internal links and neither one did a damn thing, so I guess I’m leaving the old site up for a bit at least.
02 | take Onyx on some runs
Took her for a short jog Friday and we hiked up Cowles Mountain on Saturday. She sure seemed happy both times. I love running with her, but I’m also looking forward to a couple solo runs this week (now that it seems like my right arch is back to…well, 95% at least).
03 | work on my portfolio
I gathered some more clips together (a lot are print pieces so I’ve had to scan or track down PDFs), but still haven’t uploaded them.

02 | 30-Day Yoga Challenge
I signed up for this after seeing a bunch of bloggers rave about Erin Motz. I’m only going to use these videos when I don’t hit up the studio (which I want to do 2-3 times a week), so it’ll take me longer than 30 days, but I’m hoping they help me start a regular home practice.
03 | fix my sleep habits, phase I
This will be an ongoing thing (much longer than just this week), but my sleep schedule and habits have been atrocious lately. I’ve been taking advantage of the work-from-home freelance lifestyle and sleeping in way too late, I’ve been glued to screens way too late at night, I’m tossing and turning when I finally do get to bed…it’s not good. So this week I want to start with a strict 9:00 curfew for my laptop and phone, so I can read a bit and get settled and ready for bed earlier (hopefully by 10:00).
04 | be more intentional with social networking
I’m going to try blocking off specific chunks of time each day to “network” (I really, really hate using network as a verb) on, say, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook groups, or community forums. Because I know I could be using these a lot more effectively.
