gratitude52, Week 26: Someone I Got to Meetfeatured

gratitude52 (because “52 Weeks of Gratitude” is too much of a mouthful) is a year-long challenge/series on, obviously, gratitude. Read more about the challenge here and all gratitude52 posts here.

I had another post ready for today. This week, according to  the prompts, it’s time to think about and be grateful for someone I got to meet. For awhile, I wasn’t blanking on who specifically to focus on.

Then this morning, I got up and while walking Onyx, I started scrolling through Instagram and saw this:

And I quickly checked Twitter and Facebook to confirm and get the full story.

I don’t usually get into politics or current events (besides sporting events, at least), but today — I’m so happy.

So today, I’m grateful for everyone I’ve ever met who has taught me about love. And for everyone who has taught me that everyone, anyone, deserves equal rights no matter who they love.
