gratitude52, Week 29: My Favorite Memoryfeatured

gratitude52 (because “52 Weeks of Gratitude” is too much of a mouthful) is a year-long challenge/series on, obviously, gratitude. Read more about the challenge here and all gratitude52 posts here.

You know what’s hard? Picking a favorite…anything. I’ve been sharing several “favorite memories” all year with my “Throwback Stories,” and when I looked over those already posted and the ones I’ve got planned for the rest of the year, I couldn’t for the life of me choose one standout favorite.

Gliding almost silently over fresh powder, whether in Tahoe, France, or Colorado.

The burst of excitement coupled with relief after finishing any hard, well-fought race.

That time I surprised my parents at a Christmas party they hosted when I told them I had to work and couldn’t come home for break until a couple days after.

The first time Husband told me he loved me, or the time he proposed, or seeing him again after a long separation (stupid long distance).

Coming home to any of my dogs going crazy with excitement.

Hearing my name called at high school or college graduation.

Staying up all night with friends at a random summer sleepover.

Getting my first real freelancing client.

My first Hanson concert (and my second. Somehow I’ve only managed to see them live twice).

Watching the Zac Brown Band perform “Piano Man.”

Watching Stevie Nicks sing “Landslide” live.

Watching the Giants win the pennant and World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

My grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

At the risk of both copping out and being totally cheesy, I’m grateful to have so many wonderful memories that I can’t pick a favorite.

Can you pick a favorite memory? Or maybe list your top 5 or top 10?
